Handmade Woodcraft & Laser Engraving

Made one piece at a time.

Timber Trace USA is a small American woodshop. Solid-wood furniture, toys, home goods and keepsakes — plus laser engraving and personalization. Nearly everything is made to order, so if you can describe it, there is a good chance I can build it.

01

Made to order, not mass produced — you choose the wood, size and finish.

02

Personalization built in, with laser engraving on wood, metal, leather and more.

03

From a single engraved keepsake to a full piece of furniture.

Four things I build well.

The shop is deliberately broad. These are the categories most work falls into — but they are a starting point, not a menu. Custom pieces outside this list are welcome, and often the most interesting jobs.

Small Furniture

Side tables, shelving, benches, stools and storage — built with real joinery and finished to live in a home, not a warehouse.

  • Side tables
  • Shelving
  • Benches
  • Storage

Toys & Keepsakes

Wooden toys, puzzles and keepsake boxes made to survive being loved — rounded edges, sturdy joints and child-safe finishes.

  • Toys
  • Puzzles
  • Keepsake boxes
  • Heirlooms

Home Woodcraft

Cutting and serving boards, organizers, décor and seasonal pieces — everyday objects that are nicer when someone made them.

  • Boards
  • Organizers
  • Décor
  • Seasonal

Laser Engraving

Names, dates, monograms, logos and artwork engraved on wood, metal, leather, slate and acrylic — including items you already own.

  • Gifts
  • Awards
  • Weddings
  • Branding

If you can describe it, I can usually build it.

Custom commissions are the heart of this shop. There is no form to fight with and no minimum order — a one-line message is enough to start.

Tell me about it

Send a photo, a rough sketch, or just a paragraph describing what you want. Dimensions help, but I can work them out with you.

I quote it honestly

You get wood, size, finish, engraving, price and a realistic timeline in writing before anything is committed. If it is not a good fit for my shop, I will say so.

I build and ship it

The piece is made to order and shipped to you. Payment and buyer protection run through Etsy, so your order is covered.

A small shop, on purpose.

Timber Trace USA is one person, a well-equipped shop, and a strong preference for building fewer things properly.

I have spent years building furniture — dressers, tables, cabinets and built-ins, the kind of pieces that have to fit a real room and survive a real household. That work taught me which parts matter: honest joinery, wood that is chosen rather than whatever was cheapest, and a finish that still looks right in five years.

Alongside the woodworking I run a laser, doing personalization and engraving across a range of materials. It means a piece can be built and marked under one roof, and that a gift can carry a name, a date or a logo without being sent somewhere else to be finished.

Because the shop is small, I take a limited number of commissions at a time. That is a deliberate trade: slower than a factory, and considerably more attention paid to your piece.

Furniture experience

Dressers, tables, cabinets and built-ins — full-size work, applied to smaller pieces.

Multi-material engraving

Wood, metal, leather, slate and acrylic — not just one surface, and not just one style.

Made to order

Very little is pre-built, so size, wood, finish and engraving are all still on the table.

Straight answers

An honest timeline up front, and a clear no when something is not a good fit for this shop.

The Storefront

Everything is sold through Etsy.

Etsy handles checkout, shipping, tracking and buyer protection, which keeps this site about the work instead of a shopping cart. Current stock and made-to-order listings live there — and it is also the easiest place to message me about a custom piece.

Before you ask.

The things people want to know before commissioning a piece from a shop they have not bought from before.

Can you make something that isn’t in the shop?

Yes — that is most of what I do. Send a photo, a sketch, or just a description, and I will tell you whether it is something I can build and what it would cost.

What woods do you work in?

Mostly domestic hardwoods: walnut, cherry, maple, white oak and ash. If you want a specific species for a custom piece, ask and I will source it.

How long does a custom piece take?

It depends on the piece and what is already in the queue. Engraving and small items are usually quick; furniture takes longer. I give you a realistic timeline in writing before you commit, and I would rather quote honestly than over-promise.

Can you engrave something I already own?

Often, yes. I engrave wood, metal, leather, slate and acrylic. Send a photo and the dimensions and I will confirm whether the material and shape will work before you ship anything.

Do you take on bulk or corporate work?

Yes, for small runs — gifts, awards, branded items, wedding and event pieces. Large-volume production is not a good fit for a shop this size, and I will tell you if your run is too big rather than let you down.

Where do you ship?

Anywhere in the United States, through my Etsy shop, which handles checkout, tracking and buyer protection.

Start a project.

Custom work, engraving, a question about a listing, or a small-run enquiry — all of it is welcome. Messaging through Etsy is usually fastest, since that is where orders are tracked.
